| Terry |
Cotton
terry towels are woven on a loom. Terry towels utilize
an additional yarn to form loops which cover both
sides of the towel. These loops are normally referred
to as "Pile" or "Loop Surfaces."
|
| Border |
Border
are flat woven areas (no loops) of a towel. A variety
of designs and logos can be woven into a border. |
 |
| Velour |
Velour
or sheared towels are produced in the same fashion
that terry is produced with an additional process
that cuts the terry loops on one side. The aesthetics
of the velour side provide a decorative look. The
terry side should face the skin for optimum drying.
|
 |
| Sculpted |
Sculpted
effects are achieved by bringing all the loops to
the surface or to the back of the towel. This technique
is often used to weave designs into a solid colored
towel. |
 |
| Variable
Loop Height |
With
new weaving technology it is now possible to weave
designs into a terry towel by varying the loop height.
This opens doors for designers to create new interesting
designs. |
| Jacquard
|
Either
terry or velour, these are patterned towels. The design
is woven right into the towel and is constructed on
a special type of loom. |
| Printed
|
Colorful
designs are printed on the surface of either terry
or velour towels. Designs are normally printed on
one side. |
| Embellished
|
In
order to provide more fashion to towels, some manufacturers
add embroidery or lace to a towel. This variety helps
add a decorative look to a bathroom. |
| Combed
Cotton |
Short
fibers are combed out before the spinning process.
Combed yarn give the towel a softer hand and reduces
pilling. |
| Pima
Cotton |
Fine
cotton fiber with long staple length. Better hand,
reduces pilling and increases absorbency. |
| Microfiber |
Microfiber
towels actually scrape the dirt or wax from the
surface of the automobile and then stores the particles
or liquid in the towel until it washed. Microfiber
can be used wet or dry. When using microfiber wet,
it is very important to wring the towel as dry as
possible. If a Microfiber towel is dripping water,
it is too wet, and could leave steaks on the surface
you are cleaning. REMEMBER: WET IT! WRING IT! WIPE
IT!
If
the Microfiber towel becomes too dirty, it will
also begin to streak. It is then time to wash the
towel. This is easily dome by just throwing the
towel into a washing machine, and washing with any
soap or detergent you prefer.
However,
there are two restrictions: 1st Never wash Microfiber
towels with other types of cotton towels; the Microfiber
towel will treat the lint generated by the cotton
towel like dirt and store it in the tiny particles
in the towel fibers. 2nd Never use fabric softener;
the Microfiber towel will likewise store it in the
tiny particles in the towel fibers, causing the
towel to be less effective.

Space-age
technology is now available in car wash and detail
towels. There are approx. 90,000 microfibers in one
square inch of this towel. The Ultra towel delivers
perfect lint-free windows; no more streaks ever again!
It is super absorbent and will dry in one third the
time of ordinary towels. Since the Ultra towels is
totally lint-free and nonabrasive, it also makes the
best polishing cloth. |
